A friend stopped by this morning because his 2003 Jeep wrangler died on the way to work. He just replaced the battery, and it seemed fine till this morning. Any ideas if starter fluid into air intake doesn’t work? I see from a previous post that it might.
Thanks!

I would check to make sure the alternator is charging the battery. also check the battery cables for an internal break or corrosion. make sure connectors are tight and clean.

If that makes no difference when cranking, it’s a sign there’s no spark.

If the vehicle just turned off with no warning, the crankshaft position sensor may have failed

Well, my husband’s towing him home. If I find out what the solution is I’ll be sure to pass it on—
Solution was starter fluid sprayed into the air filter; the engine started immediately and continued running. It was @ 7 degrees F when problem began, and @ 28 degrees when it started. They suspect it was a frozen gas line.
Fortunately, a simple solution this time that may help others. cheers
