every morning startup is a battle, will not stay running, pumping accelerator is only way to get her running, after that , runs fine, 219,000 miles, best little car except for aluminum rims, no one will put tubes in radial tires. ---

Likely needs a new fuel pump. The anti drainback valve in the pump is allowing the pressure to bleed off. Try turning the key on and off a few times before trying to start it. You should be able to hear a hum from the fuel pump each time you turn it on. If the engine starts right up after doing that, change the fuel pump. ---

coolant level is good? ever done the intake gaskets? hard starting could be a few issues
