# 2003 Acura gear whine

My Acura was brought in for gear whine and they reluctantly agreed to replace the transmission. However, there seems to be a whine/whirring noise though not as bad. How do I physically verify that the transmission was replaced? Would there be a number on the transmission that would match the vin?
