My car makes a metallic plink sound with each tire rotation. I think it is coming from the front wheel on the driver’s side. I can hear it best when I am driving slow, next to a building. It is echoing off the building. The sound goes away when I apply the brake. When I take my foot off the brake, it starts up again immediately. It has been doing this for a couple of months with no performance problems.

Could be a pebble trapped in the wheel hubcap (there’s a small one at the center of the wheel if it has alloys).

Different car but similar experience, after a couple of years the front wheel bearing went out. Fine after it was replaced.

Jack up that wheel and inspect it real close.
You could have a nail, screw, or other metallic object that got stuck in the tire.
Sometimes the object seals in the rubber well enough that you don’t lose air.

The answer by @Yosemite makes sense. Also you should check the condition of the brake pads, as it is possible that they are very worn.
