I have a difficult time starting my 2001 Aztek (does not have AWD and is not a GT). It will not start in ‘P’, but it will eventually start in ‘N’ or sometimes by going from ‘P’ to ‘N’ then back to ‘P’. The battery checked out ok, and a new starter was installed in summer 2005. Any ideas what could be the problem?

It sounds like the switch that keeps the car from starting in gear or maybe the linkage.
