Does this indicate you put gas into a diesel?

If not, why not post all normally posted data:
Engine
Mileage
CEL on
Code numbers

There is something to be said for punctuation.
sputter, misfire, bad on gas
sputter, misfire bad, on gas.
sputter/misfire, bad on gas.
sputter/misfire bad, on gas.

And we are supposed to welcome posts like this?

Please define “bad”.
Depending on the truck’s configuration, it has an EPA rating of anywhere from 16-20 mpg, but that rating is based on moderate temperatures. If you have had frigid temps lately, your mileage would likely take a major hit.

Remove the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.

If gas leaks from this connection, the diaphragm in the regulator has ruptured and needs to be replaced.

In addition to what everyone else has said, the truck is 25 years old and probably has plenty of deferred maintenance.

And, it could have low compression and/or a whole heap of other mechanical problems.
