Neither the front nor the rear wipers on my daughter’s 1996 4Runner are working. Also the windshield washer pump does not work. Is this likely something as simple as a fuse (which has not yet been checked) or could something darker be lurking?

You have to start somewhere. Even without a manual, the fuse box should say where the fuse is. There may even be a chart on / in it in color. Is there a favorite tire shop somewhere? When I have a light out, I call there right away and drive over there. It saves me from driving to X-Mart and buying a package of two so I can spend an hour changing it. Look Ma, no (working) hands!

Is the rear wiper on the same stalk as the front wipers, or is it on the dash? If they are together my best guess is a bad multifunction switch, but you also need to check the fuses. I looked up a similar issue on a T100 truck the other day, and both the washer motor and wipers are on the same fuse. I assume yours is similar.

Simple solution. 20 amp fuse for everything. Thanks for the helpful replies.
