I have a 1995 F-150 4X4 XLT extended cab pickup. Last week I drove it to work, parked, turned the key off, and nothing happened. The truck kept running. I had to pull the distributor wire to get it to shut off.

I ordered a new key ignition lock and installed it. That didn’t fix the problem. The truck will start, but won’t shut off and if I pull the distibutor wire, the engine shuts off but the accessories stay on so the battery drains if I don’t disconnect that too.

So, what’s the problem? Anyone know? I would really appreciate any answers. Thanks.

 Ryan

You need one of these here thangs (an ignition switch, not the lock and cylinder): [http://www.autozone.com/R,2497979/vehicleId,2005001/initialAction,partProductDetail/store,1140/partType,00189/shopping/partProductDetail.htm](http://www.autozone.com/R,2497979/vehicleId,2005001/initialAction,partProductDetail/store,1140/partType,00189/shopping/partProductDetail.htm)

(Later that day) Trailing period removed, and, then, tested.

OK- so far I have replaced the lock/key cylinder AND the ignition switch and I still have the same problem. The truck starts and runs but will not shut off. I still have to pull the distributor wire to get it to shut off. Anyone know what the problem is?
