Tapping sound is coming from the dashboard during startup and shutdown. A tapping sound can be heard for about 30 seconds after I turn the ignition off. What is the problem?

Without hearing the sound, any guess would be a swag (scientific wild burro guess). My swag is that it’s a relay involved with the start circuit. Take it to your mechanic for a better diagnosis.
