# 1978 Cadillac DeVille - Loses power

When I turn the key to start car it looses all power when had power before.

What exactly do you mean by “loses power”? If you mean nothing happens when you turn the key It sounds like the battery is either not charging (alternator) or unable to hold a charge (battery). Will it start with a jump? Have the alternator and battery tested.
