My van has 230k miles and lately when I start it and shift the car into drive it doesn’t move. my work around is to start it let it idle for a couple of seconds then shut it off and start it again. At this point I can shift into drive and go. Any clues as to why this is happening?

Will the tranny engage in reverse at first attempt?

Tranny fluid full?

When was the last tranny fluid/filter changed/cleaned?
