The power steering light goes on and off and I lose PS intermittently.Fluid is full. Code C1513 came up. Dealer says there is a problem with a sensor and says I HAVE to replace my rack and computer for $2,500. I took it to another garage who also called Toyota and got the same spiel. Is this so? Sounds like getting a hart transplant for a harmless murmur. I still drive it to Cambridge (our fair city) 110 miles round trip every day. ---

If the power steering isn’t working it’s a serious safety issue. Cost isn’t the point here. If the system fails completely, how will you steer the car? Fix it or trade it in.
