Battery and brake lights on again after alternator replaced

My 2001 Outback lost power while driving home last week–brake and battery lights came on, tach and speedometer needles stopped working, then car lost power. A fresh battery got me to the shop where the alternator was replaced. Ten blocks after leaving the shop, the battery and brake lights came on again! I drove it 30 miles and checked the battery. It shows a full charge. Just bad lights? or is something else wrong?

Bring it right back to the shop… ASAP. It’s possible the new alternator is defective. I’ve seen it happen many times, I’ve replaced a alternator and the new one is junk right out of the box.

You need to get it back to the shop because it is a possibility that it is just a loose connection on the alternator.
