"i have a 2007 forester with 95k miles. when is timing belt due to be changed? "
This is very clearly spelled out in the booklet titled Subaru Warranty and Maintenance that should be sitting in your glove compartment. The interval for this service is really not ambiguous, because it is clearly stated as, "105,000 miles or 105 months, whichever comes first".
So...for a 5 year old vehicle with 95k miles, this service is due by the time that you accumulate 105k miles, unless you drive so little that the car gets to 8+ years of age before it gets to 105k miles.
Overall, this illustrates two things:
You need to open the glove compartment, and read the booklets provided by the mfr
And, if you don't have an Owner's Manual and Warranty/Maintenance booklet, you need to obtain them.
E-bay is a good source.
