Watching Movies/etc on IPad/cell while driving

I have been noticing more drivers having their IPads/cells on their dash board held up by something and watching a movie or something on them while driving. Eyes darting to electronic device then to road. They are speeding up/slowing down as their mood swings and swerving all over. I have been cut off four times by them and after they are in the regular lane on the highway they slow down to 50 to watch whatever they are absorbed into. Has anyone else seen this?

Thankfully there is not alot of that here where I live yet… However I was in Indianapolis a few weeks ago and seen a guy in a pimp car and it had a tv in the steering wheel, passenger side, rear seats and IN the back window so the people behind him could watch too!

He was playing the music videos to the rap songs he was bumping out of sound system.

I have seen people reading books while driving before. Anyone that reads or watches movies while they drive should lose their license permanently.

I agree license revoke should happen. So dangerous for all.

I’ve witnessed people reading the news paper while driving, applying makeup, brushing teeth, flossing (the dentist would be proud), shaving, also shaving legs, and putting clothes on. Mostly out of staters. How can this be managed. It’s out of control…

Buy a super duty pickup truck, jack it up, put a brush guard on it and “bump” the offenders. And/or buy one of those train horn kits for your car and blast it as they’re doing their chores.

I assume you are kidding. Startling one of these “jerks” is definitely tempting and we all wish we could do it, but if they then loose control and get into an accident and some one dies, probably an innocent coming in the other direction, you might not feel it was such a great idea.

There have been a couple arrests in MA for it. And even one guy was watching Porn. Now THAT’S DISTRACTING.

Brush guard push ?
train horn ?
Ok, let’s add laser pointer.
Just a pen sized one will do. They’ll see the red dot and look wildly to see where it’s coming from.
( yes, more distraction, both them and you, for more dangerous driving, but it might just work. )

Never said the ideas were moral or legal. More tongue-in-cheek ideas; kinda like what I said awhile back about sitting on my roof and shooting cars in the trunk(where the speakers/amp usually are located) that are playing loud music.

It’s possible these drivers aren’t watching movies or reading the newspaper. The drivers may be looking at their cell phone for the map display showing their current location, and directions to where they are going. Some cell phones have GPS and map functions built in, so they can be made to work like those electronic Garmin map gadgets. There was a problem mentioned in the news with the Apple IPhone maps a while ago, so if you followed the Apple directions sometimes things didn’t go exactly smoothly, but hopefully they’ve fixed that problem by now.
