there is a loud humming/roaring noise, not certain where it is coming from. Thought it was my tires, had them rotated/balance checked…no cupping…still very noisy. Have been told may be wheel bearing…how can I ascertain if this is the problem? or what else might cause this? The noise is getting progressively louder and I feel vibration in my seat and sometimes in the steering wheel.
Does the pitch of the noise change when the steering wheel is moved off-center (i.e. changing lanes)? This is an indication of a failing wheel bearing. I had this happen on a 2000 Blazer, I did not wait for the noise to get worse or a vibration to develop before I took it to my local mechanic.
